Toronto Link Fodder
One thing that can be said about a big event in Toronto, like the fire yesterday on Queen W -- it brings out the photographers.

Oh great, Toronto has it's own strain of Norovirus.

This is freaking cool !! City 7: Toronto Conflict is a Half-Life 2 mod featuring some parts of downtown TO. ( thanks jer !)

I think I might wander by The Word On The Street on Sunday if I am not too sleepy after (attempting to) going to a Nuit Blanche event or two. And this link answers my "but i am a pedestrian" question.

So, Crack use 'staggering' among homeless. That would explain why a woman with cerebral palsy walked up to us in the park yesterday and asked us where she could buy $20 worth of crack. Note of interest: about a decade ago someone who's knowledge I trusted corrected me when I said cerebral palsy stating it was cerebal palsy. Having not really seen it spelled out very often, I took them at their word. They were wrong.

First thoughts of the morning were, "Oh gawds this is going to delay me." Second thoughts were, "Shaddup you bastard, your inconvenience against the weight of a Toronto transit worker dying is not much." I guess I have commuter brain now.

Jer is right; this house is ridiculous. Fucking nuts I would say. It's tucked into what would normally be the alley way between two houses. It's one story. It can't hold a sofa. It's only one story??? I understand it being a part of history but geez, this is one of those times when I am all for knocking it down and making use of the space. $139,000?!?

As Maria said, it was snowing heavily this morning. It was gone by the time I was out of the subway. Poo. But, weird -- I have never seen lightning & snow at the same time, and I even heard the crack of thunder !! Update: The Geekent has some nice shots of it !!

While I would terrified to contribute to Toronto Transit Camp (shy 17 year old in body of almost 40 guy) I love the idea of an un-conference for the TTC website and the TTC in general. Imagine a bunch of people sitting around discussing solution having made a pledge not to complain. Imagine if town meetings about troubles in the community took on this group thing instead of the usual grumpy people in seats yelling at distraught community leader on podium.

Sheesh!! If the oldest blogger lives in Toronto and handwrites his posts, to be mailed to NB, why the heck aren't we, the GTABers, helping him out here?!?! If in the least we could get his posts from him and update his blog or in the furthest, put a PC in his house with a limited internet account. Sounds like he's a boon to the community.

Kewl. Local shop Magic Pony is at the top of the web zen shopping 2006 list.

These TTC Swag Suggestions are really cool. Whenever a friend or family member visits Toronto, the choices of memorabilia are embarrassing. These would do wonderfully !

Dang! This Toronto After Work Schmooze was exactly the kind of thing I wanted to attend when I first arrived in Toronto but now four years later and four years out of the webdev loop, I would be afraid.

Too tired to say much more than paved.ca, a GTA blog.

Oh I should be in bed but here we get local comic blogging at Comics.212.net. He works at The Beguiling, the most impressive and intimidating comic store in the city.
