I saw this GitS: The Laughing Man DVD in HMV the other day and I was confused and hopeful. But actually, what it turned out to be (a movie made from the highlights of the entire season) is what I truly expected. I do want to see it but it's worth waiting as an Xmas gift. Hint hint.

Now, is this live performance of Tank! , a theme from the classic anime Cowboy Bebop good for it's music or good for it's reference? I do think it would go over well in Vegas.

With cable TV cancelled we have been "acquiring" more TV not normally available in mainstream Canada. Though not a TV show, the new Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. Solid State Society movie is picking up where the last series ended. To the BitTorrent Machine !!

Ohhhh-kay, a multitude of girl team animes start in Japan and are popular enough to spin-off extremely bad versions of themselves in the US (not that the originals are anything to sing home about) which then inspires an american born Powerpuff Girls cartoon. That then goes back to Japan as Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z. Now does that mean the US will have it's own edited dubbed version? We can run them back to back !!

OMG, that is one kick-ass Kusanagi Motoko statuette !! I have a couple of "figures" of her (one of which recently took a header from the standing place and spilled feet and head in 3 different directions.. CRACK) but none compare to the detail on this one. Plus, its kind of demure for the Major which makes it more likely to be on display. (thanks Nood!!)

I love how they mention, in this article about a possibility of Firefly returning as MMORPG, that it was like Cowboy Bebop, which is something I thought when I saw Bebop for the first time, "Man, Whedon must have really been influenced by this..." Jer, THIS is the next anime you should watch.

They are presented as sooooo cute in the series but can you imagine being confronted with a full-sized Tachikoma ? I think until you heard them speak in their ten-year-old japanese boy voice, you might consider this mobile tank dangerous.

Finally, images of Cosplay that are not completely cringe worthy. Note: While there is nothing wrong with a cute girl dressed as your favourite anime character, some of the pics (i hadn't viewed many when i linked it), are more kogal than cosplay. Look it up.

I would like to see Salaryman Kintaro as it has a pretty great, non-standard-anime theme. The mother site, SaruDama, is pretty cool too.

Speaking of currently running series, it seems that old standalone anime called Blood (about a highschoolish girl killing vampires) will be a forthcoming series.

We have watched the first episode of Paranoia Agent, which is anime done by the creator of Perfect Blue, Millenium Actress and Tokyo Godfathers.

Now that I finished Stand Alone Complex, I may just be a little naughty.
