12:59 AM - OK, I want pictures of these spiders cuz if they are true, they would creep people out much more than my own spider pics.

8:42 AM - Yep, you know it's truly spreading when you hear it as part of a random street conversation.
"...but that would be a blog. I don't want a blog, what I want is a..."

9:44 PM - Hey! The previous Beatnik reminded me of Noah Grey. Thanx !
|
9:42 PM - Last night I mentioned to James that I don't really read alot of the GTA Bloggers because a) I am lazy and b) because I am a snob who often closes a window quickly if designed bad (without a fabricated reason to stay :) Thus I am glad that the design of BeatnikPad is so snazzy because even my own bad habits won't stop me from reading it.

9:30 AM - A number of neighbours in my building are in a battle with the management company of our apartments. They recently had pesticide sprayed on the lawns (which have always been pretty green to me) that are used by the handful of kids and dogs that live in the building. The owners (of the kids and dogs) are furious they were not consulted and that the warning signs were taken down only 24 horus after they went up. They claim the lawns will be unusable for 6 weeks. I wonder if I should give our Super a copy of 10 Steps to Non-Toxic Lawn Care ? (via envying ed)

9:59 PM - Took this on the way home tonight (visiting work *frown*) and I am rather fond of it.
|
9:02 PM - The Gmail invites are free flowing again.
|
8:28 PM - Weird. I just saw a mention o Lethal Skies II on a TechTV(G4) show and it flashed a "bonus mission" that happens to take place in Cape Breton. I wonder where that choice came from...
|
12:29 PM - As you can tell, I recently bought my long-lasting-envy-purchase -- the digital camera. I wondered how I would react when I got the thing; would I go back to being a camera buff and spend most free hours snapping away. Or would the entry-level point-and-shoot nature of what I could afford curtail my creativity. Or would I run out of money buying batteries?
I don't know. But we did spend 4 hours on the Toronto Islands on Sunday past. I snapped off about 90 flicks with a mostly-dead battery. I haven't decided if I want a photoblog for purely dumping image-thoughts or just occasionally plunk something here. What I am considering is whether small or large. Small gives you nice peeks while large is how it is meant to be seen; problem is that it's not the greatest cam in the world thus focus, blur, etc. is apparent. And photoshop can only help so much.
Still, looking forward to the fun I have been waiting years for.

10:18 AM - I don't read Stephen King anymore. There was a time when I raved about him to anyone who would listen. Sure the stories were schlock but the way he wrote was magical. Things started to change, and it's a change that I imagine many genre writers (and songwriters for that matter) fall into -- once an author has stopped living around the life he once wrote so passionately about, the writing changes, sometimes for the worse. If what you loved about the author were on the street level, dirty and real seeming, when the author has only seen their own expensive house and book tours for the last 25 years, then things are changed. Bruce Springsteen doesn't write songs that interest me anymore because he doesn't have access to the topics I liked in his songs.
That is why Stephen King is so much better at writing about writing these days.

7:46 AM - Who needs content when you have cats?
|
| Sunday, August 22, 2004. |
11:33 AM - Last night, J and I were talking about pathetic men and their needs for a Dutch Wife (warning! not work safe!) or a Real Doll. She was of the opinion you could just buy real sex and I countered that some men were just too shy / frightened of real women to try that. Not to mention diseases. And the delivery of a large plain brown box is not as embarrassing.
Now, what about Imaginary Girlfriends? It's essentially the camgirl concept but you pay to have them interact on a VERY personal level with you. Sort of like a fictitional LDR. How pathetic does some one have to be to not only simulate sex but also simulate love?

11:00 AM - This annotated comic strip reminds me of some games of D&D where I have stopped DMing in order to consider & discuss the sociological ramifications of the introduction of a plot line. For example, out planet has enough trouble dealing with only one intelligent species. What do you think would happen if there were a dozen seperate species with different life spans, unique characteristics and attitudes towards each other? (via a 20' by 20' room)

10:35 AM - Since no one thought I was now changing the paradigm in posting cat pictures, I thought I would go back to the usual and post this sniggery item on instructional tomfoolery.

10:42 AM - I don't know why but this comic made me think immediately of mukey. He'll know what I mean.

9:23 AM - I had a dream about waves lapping on a clouded-over shore line and woke up feeling very very different this morning. With the dream lingering, I was caught between imediately quitting my job and catching the next flight home to place my hand into the Atlantic ocean and just catching the next subway downtown to find my way to a beach on the lake.
I drank coffee instead and the real me is seeping back.

7:30 AM - Uh oh, it's only a matter of time before Bush labels D&D as a Tool of Terror. Yup, a person in authority tried to confiscate an RPG book because it was inappropriate.

2:00 PM - I dropped a resume to these guys a while ago. And today they were in my referrers. I wonder why?

7:34 PM - Neat !! Roommate From Hell is the fictional blog of the main character in Jim Munroe's new novel, An Opening Act of Unspeakable Evil.
|
7:29 PM - Mrphl. I guess the folly of having so many images accessible to the internet general public is that they are going to be "borrowed" at regular intervals.

| Saturday, August 07, 2004. |
11:14 AM - Why don't I write more than blurbs these days? Because other people write other schtuff so much better.
