11:55 PM - "Puppies in parallel," or, "All dogs fall down."

8:26 AM - A. Why would any fucking moron park his giant pickup truck directly in front of the exit of a parking garage?!?
B. Why is the visitor's parking area of my apartment building filled to the brim with luxury cars?!?
Answer. Oh yeah, they are power-washing the garage today. No one was supposed to be in the garage right now and pickup truck guy was preventing people from returning.
My neighbours have luxury cars?!?! Why the friar tuck are they in this building?

7:37 PM - In blundering through some sites via CSS Vault, I came across thought anomalies and metro station, both of whom I think look quite neat.
Update: That latter link was the wrong link; fixey now.
7:33 PM - Comments all fixed.
7:44 AM - Hrrm. I am going to make a funny, amateurish comic strip and release it on the web. And even before it becomes supremely popular, being linked everywhere, I am going to give it it's own domain and also sell all kindsa schwag for it. Oh damn, somebody took my idea.

11:52 PM - Art schtuff doodled on cardboard boxes is neat !!
9:37 PM - It's nice to know that this explanation of 'Donnie Darko' is pretty much what I thought the movie was about. Cannot wait to see it in the theatre since I was pretty much pissed I never did for the original one. (via Gary)

7:39 PM - So I think I figgered out what happened. The hosting company recently changed my "cluster" and in doing so, all the comments files already created are now under a new unix style user and group. so i don't have permission to do anything with those files :) Now that I have pointed that out to them, it shouldn't be long before it's fixed.
7:10 PM - new test post.
6:53 PM - Three tries before the comments file becomes corrupted?
| Friday, July 23, 2004. |
9:38 AM - Some of you have noticed that my comment script is generating errors. Comments files are becoming corrupted and while I get the email generated by the script, the message does not get posted to the comments file. I have the trouble submitted with the hosting company and they are always prompt and courteous. Hopefully we will be back to functioning status within the day.

11:53 PM - This is a weird site. It is called DeansPlanet.Com Celebs Without Makeup but really it is more "Celebs in scenes where they look like they are wearing no makeup" or "Celebs wearing even more makeup in the second image than in the first".
8:14 AM - Yes it is, it is a dark & stormy morning, this morning. Yes, it is.
12:27 AM - Hrrm. Bill has reminded me of my bike rides to and from *ahem* my last place of real employment. Note, the quick path down the hill from Westmount Park to a mini park (not on map) and then a quick left to the foot-and-bike-bridge where I once saw a police car sneaking across. The south side bike bath goes east until you hit the west end of the waterfront and the I would hobble up the cobbles to work in Old Montreal.
Toronto's waterfront definately sucks.
12:12 AM - Hmmmm. I have moved around alot and have been away from home for quite some time. If I had known that there was a portal from the Lachine Canal (look at the url of the previous link, then click it) to Cape Breton, I would have biked home to see Mom & Dad.

7:46 PM - I don't know why but I really like that Chloe Sevigny was posing with a dog's arse at the Target store. Or maybe I just like saying it out loud. It was an invite-only event that looked like it was attended by all the trend setters in NYC ;)
11:45 AM - Hrrrm, this bitoogle should be handy in my dastardly deeds. (via wholesome goodness)
*evil scientist cackle*
11:35 AM - I read that Jessica Simpson was at a techie conference but my brain replaced Jessica with Lisa. It made more sense.
11:15 AM - Beware the horny Olympians in Greece, and I ain't talking about Bacchus.
11:14 AM - Shooters are good. Tiny shooters are tiny good.

8:24 PM - Yah, dere is a nice new freckle stof in da neighbourhood. Ya dere is. Is good.
8:19 PM - Yay!! My first foray into "taking money out of mouths of the children of those stuntmen at the beginning of recent theatre releases" was successful.

11:23 AM - I like that someone has explained the basics of all this Pixel Art.

11:05 AM - OK, if i have a burner that can do 'plus' and 'minus' DVDs why buy one type of blank vs the other?
10:17 AM - P.S. Ignoring my own first comment about the DVD Burner, I ended up making my first "push button" DVD of three DLed anime episodes ("Last Exile") via neoDVD.
It worked on it all night and at about 5am, when Marmy got up to pay attention to her followers, I peeked at the completed DVD. It looks niiiiice though I will now hunt for comparable software with better menu editing options. Currently the DVD screens look like they were put together with PowerPoint.
10:12 AM - I like clicking around on other people's linkrolls. Over at the Jewelboxing Blog I found and spent a few minutes at angiemckaig.com. I put it here so I can go back later.

7:14 PM - Toy number two. We finally got the DVD Burner we have been needing to burn all of her AVI animes cluttering up my HDs (and her two that are completely full). And naive lil ol me thought that converting them to a watchable DVD would be easy rather than requiring such an intensive guide.
9:21 AM - I have never giggled so much about torture and US policy. (via a freak)
9:16 AM - It's amazing how many people find my CD Covers via search engines and get oh-so confused. All they would need to do is follow the image home and all would be explained.
12:32 AM - Been here before? Not sure. Still like.

11:13 PM - So not too long ago, well actually sometime around the LotR Fest, we noticed our speakers garbling. Chris, the now defunct orang man, suggested a duct tape solution cuz I am one of these guys who keeps his electronic hardware until it is literally falling apart. Cheap and poor kinda guy. But it was getting annoying so with a lil extra money coming in this check, J bought me a new pair of PSB Alpha Bs. Not bad but I doubt they will last the 25 years of the previous pair.
9:57 AM - If you are like me, an old man who walks into a music store only looking for the latest releases from people I already own, then you know nothing about "new music". You rely on other people to tell you what you like and what has come out. Having broad tastes and a bevy of compatriots with better music taste than I, does help. Or you can spend time and surf the MP3 Blog Roundup over at MeFi.

11:29 PM - Rather old school but i am still impressed and interested in the hote shite dezine attitudes around sites like Shiver7.
| Tuesday, July 13, 2004. |
8:19 AM - OK, so we know that this is a obtuse manner to get you to end up at Google LABS. But what we don't know is whether they want you to end up there via math or Googling. And, should I submit a resume?

6:31 PM - I like bandwagons but what I am wondering is, well, is that a MegaBlock in Doc Ock's tentacles ??

| Tuesday, July 06, 2004. |
8:29 AM - I am not sure what you would call ths but I am attracted to the collage-y aspects, especially the glue-books to the right. These are yet another concept I could easily see myself doing but probably despise the actual outcome. But it does remind me that I need a new scanner, one that pick up the subtle variations in stains on a sheet of white paper.

9:12 PM - Oh. my. gawd.
Not that I am familiar with it or anything. Nope, not me. no siree bob.
7:41 AM - Because the gang is all hosted on Blogspot, I click there often now. At first it worked fine but now, using Firefox as a browser, I have to click three or four times just to connect to the site. Anyone have any ideas why?

8:48 PM - I am ever late to trendy things, or sometimes just a little bit too early. I am just becoming enamoured with the idea of Wiki but for more streamlined reasons. I think back to the original idea for hyperlinking that I ran into. I imagined that, in any document, keywords could be easily highlighted and linked to other sources. For example, in notes for a D&D game, you could detail a game session with mentions of NPCs, places, items and events being automatically, and easily, linked to more detailed references.
There are no worries about formatting and prettiness, as it is the data that is most important.
Wiki can do that. As well, Wiki adds the idea of allowing anyone edit the page. That could make a group DMing effort very interesting, especially if you opened the information up to anyone on the Web.
11:51 AM - Hint. When placing a large Flash-based banner at the top of each of your pages, it's nicer to have a different one for every page. Or randomize it.
11:19 AM - To be honest, this is the kind of nostalgia that appeals to me. I had that yellow Sony Walkman and I went everywhere with it. I was known, in high school and university, as the guy with the walkman. I walked it until it died. Hmm, and my next two portables were Sony Walkmans (CD and now CDR/MP3). I think it would only be appropriate for my next to be an iPod inside of my original.

9:21 PM - OK, I am impressed. I am not usually impressed by photoblogs. But this makes me yearn even more for my own digital camera. It's called Chromasia and this image just blows me away.

1:41 PM - Last night was something so rare, it almost seemed new. Gary & Josie invited me to see great lake swimmers (or more specifically tony dekker) at The Rivoli. It's the guy-with-guitar-and-occasionally-harmonica music that I love but actually do not collect and rarely listen to. But it was exactly what I needed -- melancholy music in an intimate environment. I could close my eyes and be quiet and thoughtful while letting the chords and lyrics draw out memories. I could be melancholy without feeling guilty. And I bought a CD, drawing me slowly back from that Acheron tinted void I have tossed myself into (i.e. illegal MP3s).
1:52 AM - Part of me wants to write again.
When I think of writing words, words that flow well and have a resonance to me, I can never think of writing that which I regularly read -- pulp fantasy & scifi. My mind wants to write contemporary fiction with a twist, sort of like Palahniuk or Monroe drawing upon my experiences and more so, my observations of the world.
That be said, I write badly. I write in cliches and badly formed sentences. Thus, I like Fifty Writing Tools. Cuz they give me help.
1:44 AM - OK, someone tell me why I don't remember blogging mixoftheweek.com before? I mean, I must have seen it before, right? Yeah, I am in need of a new method of organizing these posts... y'know, like a real CMS? Probably MT3.0 Free.
